(1) What is FusionCode?

FusionCode is an advance monitoring and diagnostic tool that uses "remote and local agents technology" to monitor and diagnose oracle databases, database servers and application servers. The collected data are stored in an Oracle database can be easily retrieved for reporting purposes using sqlplus. The FusionCode system has predefined thresholds limits. Once these limits are exceeded alerts are issued and an escalation process begins.

(2) Is FusionCode easy to install and configure?

Special care was put in place to simplify the installation and configuration process. The installation process is highly automated. We also provide very clear and easy to follow installation instructions. The software comes pre-configured to monitor an OLTP environment so DBA’s can immediately realize the FusionCode benefits.

(3) Can I modify the pre-defined thresholds?

The DBA can change all the system threshold parameters. These seeded parameters are tuned for an OLTP database. DBA’s should study them and change them according to their site requirements. Some support contracts offer remote assistance in changing these parameters to site’s specific needs.

(4) Can I use FusionCode for database administration?

FusionCode is not a database administration tool! It has rather limited database administration functionality, instead it offers comprehensive database monitoring and diagnostic capabilities.

(5) Is FusionCode the right monitoring and diagnostic solution for my company?

The FusionCode is a comprehensive monitoring and diagnostics system. Although the system was designed to monitor extremely complicated environments, extra care was taken to ensure the system is easy to deploy and administer. FusionCode comes pre-configured for OLTP monitoring right out of the box, but offers DBA’s the ability to easily change the FusionCode monitoring parameters and also add their own custom events. FusionCode is so flexible and competitively priced, that it should be the right solution for every DBA.

(6) What kind of user interface does the FusionCode comes with?

FusionCode is actually furnished with two user interfaces, GUI and character! We talked to a lot of senior DBA’s before we decided on the user interface. Unlike most of our competitors we designed our user interface to be simple and functional. Our GUI interface is pure html so it’s fast. We did not add graphics or other fancy features that require a lot of CPU. The html based GUI allows good performance even under slow network connections (dial up, mobile etc). Also, we found that many DBA’s asked to have a character-based interface on the FusionCode system. This feature is especially helpful when no http connection is available. We are continuously looking to improve of our GUI and we always take our user feedback seriously.
